Both other character cards as well as equipment cards may be used in the process, provided the player possesses an adequate amount of Gil. The player may hold one hundred of each type of card at any given time, with all additional cards going to the player's delivery box.Ĭharacter cards begin at level 1 but the player may strengthen them through Enhancement ( 強化, Kyōka ?). The same equipment card may have different attack and defense values. Equipment cards come in the form of offensive and defensive items and generally only have rank, attack and defense values, but may also possess Equipment Abilities ( そうびアビリティ, Sōbi Abiriti ?)and Limited-Time Abilities. Additionally, character cards ranked Rare and above may possess unique Abilities ( アビリティ, Abiriti ?) with designated activation rates ( 熟練度, Jukurendō ?). Some character cards have Special Effects ( 特定効果, Tokutei Kōka ?) that activate against wanted enemies ( 手配書エネミー, Tehaisho Enemī ?) and Limited-Time Abilities ( 期間効果, Kikan Kōka ?) which are active for the duration of an event. Cost determines how many BP (battle points) are required to summon a card to player-versus-player battles. Character cards have a designated Rank, Attack ( 攻撃, Kōgeki ?), Defense ( 防御, Bōgyo ?), Cost ( コスト, Kosuto ?) and Elemental Affinities ( 属性, Zokusei ?) (fire, lightning or ice). Cards fall into two categories, character cards ( キャラカード, Kyara Kādo ?) and equipment cards ( そうびカード, Sōbi Kādo ?). The higher the rank, the stronger the card. There are five ranks of cards: N (Normal), R (Rare), R+ (Rare+), SR (Super Rare), SR+ (Super Rare+). The player begins by choosing a Final Fantasy series between I and XIII from which they wish to receive their first card a representative Rank R character card from the series.
The game consists of summoning cards and using them to complete quests and battle against other players. Upon his defeat, Bahamut is impressed, pointing out that the player is the 'chosen one' and then departs proclaiming that he will watch over the new world that the player creates. Although it is apparent the card is no match for Bahamut, reinforcements arrive and the player is able to defeat Bahamut.
Moguro aids the player in summoning a card to fight against Bahamut. However, Moguro tells the player that they have the unique ability to summon cards. As the player embarks on their adventure, they meet Bahamut, who wishes to test their strength in battle. Upon the player's arrival, they meet Moguro ( モグ郎, Mogurō ?), a Moogle who helps to guide them on their adventure. A crystal summons the player to a distant world ruled by Bahamut and charges them with spinning the tale of the land through meeting many allies, facing many enemies and bearing witness to many miracles.
